How to Set Up Email in Outlook (Mac)

Setting up your dotCanada email in Outlook on a Mac is quick and easy. Follow these steps to get connected using IMAP.

Steps to Add Your Account in Outlook (Mac)

1. Open Outlook on your Mac.
2. Go to Tools > Accounts (or click the + icon in the Accounts panel).
3. Choose New Account, then select IMAP/SMTP if prompted.
4. Enter your full email address and click Continue.
5. Enter your password when prompted.
6. If Outlook can't auto-configure, enter the settings manually:
   • IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.com, Port 993, SSL enabled
   • SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com, Port 465 or 587, SSL/STARTTLS enabled
7. Click Add Account to finish.

Tips for Outlook on Mac

• Use your full email address as your username for both incoming and outgoing servers.
• If you see certificate errors, make sure you're connecting to mail.yourdomain.com.
• IMAP is recommended over POP3 - it keeps your mail synced across all your devices.
