How to Set Up Email Forwarding
Email forwarding lets you automatically redirect incoming messages from one address to another. It's useful if you want emails sent to info@yourdomain.ca to arrive in a Gmail or other inbox you already check regularly.
How to Set Up a Forwarder in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel from your dotCanada dashboard.
- Under the Email section, click Forwarders.
- Click Add Forwarder.
- In the Address to Forward field, enter the local part of the address (e.g.,
info) and select your domain. - Under Destination, choose Forward to Email Address and enter the destination inbox.
- Click Add Forwarder to save.
Forwarding Tips
- You can forward to multiple addresses by adding separate forwarders.
- You can forward an entire domain - all email sent to any address at that domain - using the Domain Forwarders option on the same page.
- Forwarding does not create a copy in the original mailbox unless you also have a real email account at that address.
- Be aware that forwarding can sometimes affect email deliverability scores - consider SPF and DKIM alignment if forwarding to another domain.
To remove a forwarder, return to the Forwarders page in cPanel and click Delete next to the relevant entry. If you need help, contact our support team.
