How to Increase an Email Account's Storage Quota
Every email account in cPanel has a storage quota - a limit on how much disk space it can use. If an account is running low or reaching its limit, you can increase the quota from within cPanel.
Steps to Increase an Email Quota
- Log in to cPanel from your dotCanada dashboard.
- Go to Email > Email Accounts.
- Find the account you want to adjust and click Manage.
- Scroll to the Storage section.
- Change the quota value in megabytes, or select Unlimited if your hosting plan allows it.
- Click Update Email Settings to save.
Things to Keep in Mind
- The total storage available for email accounts is limited by your overall hosting plan's disk space.
- Setting quotas to Unlimited means each account can use as much disk space as your server has available - use this carefully if you have multiple accounts.
- If your overall hosting disk space is full, increasing the email quota won't help. You may need to delete old emails, upgrade your plan, or remove unused files.
Checking Current Usage
You can see how much space each email account is using on the Email Accounts page in cPanel - the usage is shown next to each account. If you're running low on overall disk space and need more, contact our support team to discuss your options.
