How to Manage Mailing Lists in cPanel

cPanel includes a Mailing Lists feature powered by Mailman, which allows you to create and manage group email lists. This is useful for newsletters, team announcements, or any situation where you need to send messages to a group of subscribers.

Creating a Mailing List

1. Log in to cPanel at yourdomain.com/cpanel.
2. Go to the Email section and click Mailing Lists.
3. Enter a name for your mailing list (e.g., newsletter).
4. Select the domain from the dropdown.
5. Set a password for the list administrator.
6. Click Add Mailing List.

Your mailing list will be created at an address like newsletter@yourdomain.com.

Managing Your Mailing List

Once the list is created, click Manage to open the Mailman administration panel. From there you can:

• Add or remove subscribers manually.
• Set subscription and privacy policies.
• Configure digest settings (send emails as a daily digest instead of individually).
• View archives of past messages.
• Customize the welcome message sent to new subscribers.

Sending to the List

To send a message to all subscribers, simply send an email to the list address (e.g., newsletter@yourdomain.com) from the list owner's email address. Mailman will distribute it to all subscribers automatically.

Important Notes

Mailman mailing lists are suited for internal or small-scale use. For large-scale email marketing campaigns, a dedicated email marketing platform is generally more appropriate.
