How to Cancel Auto-Renewal on a Product

If you'd prefer to manually review and pay invoices before a service renews, you can disable auto-renewal on individual products in your dotCanada client area. This gives you full control over which services renew automatically and which ones don't.

How to Cancel Auto-Renewal

  1. Log in to your dotCanada client area.
  2. Go to Services and select the hosting plan or product you want to manage.
  3. In the product details page, look for the Auto-Renew or Renewal Settings option.
  4. Toggle auto-renewal off or set it to Do Not Auto-Renew.
  5. Save your changes.

What Happens When Auto-Renewal Is Off?

When auto-renewal is disabled, dotCanada will still send you an invoice before the renewal date - but your card will not be charged automatically. You'll need to log in and pay the invoice manually before the due date to keep the service active.

Important: Renewal Deadlines

If you choose not to renew a service, make sure you've backed up any data before the expiry date. Services that are not renewed by their due date may be suspended and eventually terminated.

Cancelling a Service Entirely

If you want to cancel a product altogether rather than just turning off auto-renewal, see the article How to Cancel a Hosting Plan for the proper cancellation process.
