How to Update Your Credit Card on File

If your credit card has expired, been replaced, or you'd simply like to use a different card for your dotCanada account, updating your payment method is quick and easy through the client area.

How to Update Your Credit Card

  1. Log in to your dotCanada client area.
  2. Navigate to Billing and select Payment Methods.
  3. You'll see any cards currently on file. Click Add New Card or select an existing card to update it.
  4. Enter your new card details: card number, expiry date, and CVV.
  5. Save the card. You can set it as your default payment method for auto-renewals.

Accepted Credit Cards

dotCanada accepts the following credit cards:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express

PayPal is also accepted as an alternative payment method.

Removing an Old Card

Once your new card is saved, you can remove any outdated cards from your payment methods list to keep things tidy. Click the delete or remove option beside the old card entry.

Why Keeping Your Card Updated Matters

If auto-pay is enabled and your card on file is expired or invalid, your renewal payment may fail, which can result in service suspension. Keeping your payment details current prevents unnecessary interruptions.

If you're having difficulty updating your card or a payment failed, contact our support team and we'll help right away.
