How to Set Up Auto-Pay for Your Hosting Account
Auto-pay takes the hassle out of remembering to pay renewal invoices. When enabled, dotCanada will automatically charge your credit card on file when an invoice is due - so your hosting stays active without any manual steps required.
How to Enable Auto-Pay
- Log in to your dotCanada client area.
- Go to Billing and select Payment Methods.
- Add a credit card if you haven't already (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express).
- Check the option to set this card as your default auto-pay method.
- Save your settings.
Once a card is saved as your default payment method, auto-pay will be active for all eligible invoices on your account.
Which Invoices Are Covered by Auto-Pay?
Auto-pay applies to recurring invoices for active services such as hosting renewals and domain renewals. You'll still receive an invoice email before each charge so you're never surprised.
What If a Payment Fails?
If your auto-pay charge is declined - for example, because your card has expired - dotCanada will notify you by email. You'll need to log in, update your payment method, and pay the invoice manually to restore or maintain your service.
Disabling Auto-Pay
You can turn off auto-pay at any time by removing your saved card as the default payment method, or by cancelling auto-renewal on individual products.
