How to Create Your First WordPress Page

In WordPress, Pages are used for static content that doesn't change often - like your Home, About, Services, or Contact pages. Unlike Posts, Pages aren't part of your blog feed and aren't organized by date or category. Here's how to create your first one.

Creating a New Page

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to Pages > Add New Page.
  2. Click where it says Add title and type the name of your page (for example, About Us).
  3. Click the + icon in the editor area to add content blocks. The WordPress block editor (also called Gutenberg) lets you build pages using different types of content blocks - paragraphs, headings, images, buttons, columns, and more.
  4. Add a Paragraph block and type your content. You can add as many blocks as you need to build out your page.
  5. Use Heading blocks to break up your content with clear section titles.

Publishing Your Page

  1. When you're happy with your content, look at the top-right corner of the editor and click Publish.
  2. WordPress will ask you to confirm - click Publish again.
  3. Click View Page to see how it looks on your live site.

Page Settings to Know

  • Permalink - The URL for your page. WordPress generates this automatically from the title, but you can edit it in the right-hand panel under Summary.
  • Parent page - You can nest pages under a parent page to create a hierarchy (e.g., Services > Web Design).
  • Template - Some themes offer different page templates (full-width, sidebar, etc.).

Once you've created your key pages, you can add them to your navigation menu so visitors can find them easily. If you need help building out your pages, contact our support team - we're here to help.
