How to Add Your Domain to Your Hosting Account
Your dotCanada hosting plan can host multiple websites. If you want to add a second domain (or more) to your account, you can do so by creating an Addon Domain in cPanel. Here is how.
Before You Begin
Make sure the domain you want to add is already registered and that its nameservers are pointed to dotCanada. If you have not done that yet, see our article on pointing your domain to dotCanada.
Step 1: Log Into cPanel
Log into your cPanel account through the client area at clients.dotcanada.com or using the direct login URL from your welcome email.
Step 2: Find Addon Domains
In cPanel, scroll to the Domains section and click on Addon Domains. This feature lets you host additional websites under your existing plan.
Step 3: Add Your Domain
- Enter the domain name you want to add in the New Domain Name field
- cPanel will automatically suggest a subdomain and a document root folder for the new domain
- Choose a FTP password for the new domain if prompted
- Click Add Domain to complete the setup
Step 4: Upload Your Website
Once the domain is added, a new folder will appear in your File Manager under public_html. Upload your website files to that folder to make your site live. If you need help, contact our support team and we will walk you through it.
