How to Set Up Email on Android

Adding your dotCanada email to an Android phone or tablet is straightforward. The steps below work for most Android devices and email apps, including Gmail and the built-in Email app.

Steps to Add Your Email on Android

1. Open your device's Email app, or open Gmail and tap your profile icon, then Add another account.
2. Choose Other (or IMAP) as the account type.
3. Enter your full email address and tap Manual Setup.
4. Select IMAP.
5. Enter your Incoming Server settings:
   • Server: mail.yourdomain.com
   • Port: 993
   • Security: SSL/TLS
   • Username: your full email address
   • Password: your email password
6. Enter your Outgoing (SMTP) Server settings:
   • Server: mail.yourdomain.com
   • Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS)
   • Security: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
   • Username: your full email address
   • Password: your email password
7. Follow the remaining prompts to name your account and finish setup.
