How to Restore a Previous Version of Your SiteJet Site
Restoring a Previous Version of Your SiteJet Site
Made a change you regret? No problem. SiteJet automatically saves your site's version history every time you publish, so you can roll back to an earlier state at any time. This is especially useful if an update broke something on your dotCanada-hosted website.
Accessing the History Panel
- Open your website in the SiteJet editor.
- Look for the History option in the left sidebar or top menu. It may appear as a clock icon or labelled History.
- The History panel will display a chronological list of saved versions, each with a timestamp.
Previewing and Restoring a Version
- Click on any version in the history list to preview how your site looked at that time.
- Review the layout, content, and pages to confirm it's the version you want.
- If it's correct, click Restore to make it the active version of your site.
- The restored version will become your current draft. Click Publish to make it live.
Important Notes
- Restoring a version replaces your current draft - any unpublished changes will be lost.
- If you're unsure, preview the version carefully before restoring.
- Version history is tied to published saves, so unpublished drafts may not appear as separate entries.
When to Use Restore
- After accidentally deleting a page or section
- When a recent update broke your site's layout
- To retrieve content that was overwritten
If you can't find the version you need or the restore isn't working as expected, contact our support team for assistance.
