Adding a Favicon to Your SiteJet Website

A favicon is the small icon that appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, and search results next to your website's name. It's a subtle but important branding detail. Here's how to add one to your dotCanada-hosted SiteJet website.

Preparing Your Favicon Image

• Use a square image for best results - the standard size is 32x32 pixels or 64x64 pixels.
• PNG format with a transparent background is recommended.
• Keep it simple - a favicon is very small, so complex logos won't render well. Use an icon, initial, or simplified version of your logo.

Uploading the Favicon in SiteJet

1. In the SiteJet editor, open the Settings panel.
2. Navigate to Settings > Website Settings.
3. Find the Favicon section.
4. Click Upload or Choose Image and select your favicon file.
5. Save your settings.
6. Click Publish to push the favicon live.

Checking Your Favicon

After publishing, open your website in a new browser tab. You should see your favicon appear in the tab next to your site's title. If it doesn't appear immediately, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) or clear your browser cache.

Why It Matters
