How to Embed Third-Party Code or Widgets in SiteJet

Embedding Third-Party Code or Widgets in SiteJet

Need to add a live chat widget, booking tool, social media feed, or any other third-party embed to your dotCanada-hosted website? SiteJet supports custom HTML embedding, making it easy to integrate almost any external service.

Using the HTML Element

  1. In the SiteJet editor, click the + button to open the element panel.
  2. Search for HTML or look for a Custom Code element.
  3. Drag the HTML element onto your page in the desired location.
  4. Click the element to open its settings.
  5. Paste your third-party embed code - this is typically a <script> tag or iframe provided by the external service - into the code field.
  6. Save and preview to confirm the widget is loading correctly.
  7. Click Publish to make it live.

Common Third-Party Embeds

  • Live chat: Intercom, Tawk.to, Crisp
  • Booking: Calendly, Acuity Scheduling, SimplyBook
  • Social feeds: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X
  • Maps: Google Maps embed code
  • Video: YouTube or Vimeo embeds
  • Forms: Typeform, JotForm, Gravity Forms

Tips for Embedding Code

  • Only paste code from trusted, reputable services.
  • Some scripts may only render in the published version of your site, not in the editor preview.
  • If a widget requires a <head> script, look for a Header Code or Custom Scripts option in SiteJet's Website Settings.
