How to Set a Homepage in SiteJet
Your homepage is the first page visitors see when they type your domain name into a browser. SiteJet lets you control exactly which page serves as your homepage.
Default Homepage
When you first build your site in SiteJet, the first page you create (often the page that loads with your template) is automatically set as your homepage. It's usually named Home or Index.
How to Change Your Homepage
If you want a different page to be your homepage, follow these steps:
- Open the SiteJet editor from cPanel > Website > SiteJet Builder
- Click the Page Manager in the top toolbar to view your pages
- Find the page you want to set as your homepage
- Click the settings icon (gear icon) next to that page
- Look for the option labelled Set as Homepage or Start Page and enable it
- Save your changes and publish your site
What the Homepage Setting Does
Setting a page as your homepage means:
- Visitors who go to your domain (e.g.,
www.yourdomain.ca) will land on that page - It's typically the page indexed first by search engines
- Your navigation menu may highlight it as the active page when on the root URL
Tips for a Great Homepage
- Clearly explain who you are and what you do above the fold (the visible area before scrolling)
- Include a strong call to action - such as a button to contact you, shop, or learn more
- Feature your most important content and links to other key pages
