How to Add a Video to Your Website
Video is one of the most engaging types of content you can add to a website. SiteJet supports embedding videos from popular platforms like YouTube and Vimeo directly onto your pages.
Adding a Video Element
- Open the SiteJet editor from cPanel > Website > SiteJet Builder
- Open the left sidebar and look for the Video element
- Drag the Video element onto your canvas and drop it in the desired location
Embedding a YouTube or Vimeo Video
Once the Video element is on your canvas:
- Click the Video element to select it
- In the settings panel, find the Video URL or Source field
- Paste the full URL of your video (e.g.,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX) - The video preview will update automatically
Video Settings and Options
With the video element selected, you may be able to adjust the following settings:
- Autoplay - Whether the video starts playing automatically when a visitor loads the page (note: most browsers mute autoplay videos)
- Loop - Whether the video repeats when it ends
- Muted - Whether audio is muted by default
- Show controls - Whether the play/pause controls are visible
Resizing Your Video
Click and drag the resize handles around the video element to make it larger or smaller. For a cinematic full-width look, stretch the video to span the full width of your section.
Tips for Using Video on Your Site
- Use video to introduce your business, showcase products, or share testimonials
- Host videos on YouTube or Vimeo rather than uploading raw video files directly - this is better for performance
- Keep intro videos under 2 minutes to maintain visitor attention
