SiteJet Troubleshooting: My Website Won't Publish

If you click Publish in SiteJet but your dotCanada-hosted website doesn't go live - or you see an error - there are several things you can check to resolve the issue.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

A dropped connection during publishing can cause it to fail silently. Confirm your internet is working, then try clicking Publish again.

2. Refresh and Try Again

Occasionally, a temporary glitch can interrupt publishing. Refresh the SiteJet editor page and click Publish once more to retry.

3. Check Your Domain Connection

If your website is not appearing at your custom domain after publishing, the issue may be with your domain's DNS settings rather than SiteJet itself:

• Confirm your domain's DNS records are correctly pointing to your dotCanada hosting account.
• In SiteJet, go to Settings > Domain to verify the domain is connected.
• DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate - if you recently updated DNS, allow more time.

4. Check for Validation Errors

SiteJet may refuse to publish if your site has configuration errors - such as a missing page title or an invalid setting. Check for any warning indicators in the editor and resolve them before publishing.

5. Try a Different Browser

Browser extensions or settings can sometimes interfere with the publish process. Try publishing from a different browser or in an incognito window.

6. Check dotCanada Service Status

In rare cases, planned maintenance or an outage could temporarily affect publishing. Check dotCanada's status page or announcements for any known issues.
