Previewing Your Website Before Publishing in SiteJet

Before you make your dotCanada-hosted website live, it's a good idea to preview it exactly as visitors will see it. SiteJet offers both in-editor preview modes and a full live preview option.

Using Device Preview in the Editor

1. While editing in SiteJet, use the device toggle in the top toolbar to switch between desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
2. This gives you a quick look at how your layout adapts across screen sizes as you build.

Opening a Full Preview

1. Click the Preview button in the SiteJet editor toolbar (it may appear as an eye icon or be labelled Preview).
2. Your website will open in a new browser tab showing a full, interactive preview of your site.
3. Click through your navigation, test links, and review each page as a visitor would see it.

What to Check Before Publishing

• All links work and go to the correct pages or URLs.
• Images are loading and look sharp on all device sizes.
• Text is readable - font sizes, colours, and contrast are appropriate.
• Forms are present and the submit button is visible.
• Your site name and logo appear correctly in the header.
• The footer contains your contact info and any required legal links.

Testing on Real Devices

For the most accurate mobile experience, share the preview link with yourself and open it on your phone and tablet. What looks fine on a desktop simulator can sometimes behave differently on a real device.
