How to Set Up Payment Methods in SiteJet
Before your SiteJet store can accept orders, you need to connect a payment method. SiteJet supports several popular payment providers, making it easy to get paid by your customers.
Accessing Payment Settings
- Open the SiteJet editor from cPanel > Website > SiteJet Builder
- Go to the Shop or E-commerce settings in the sidebar or top menu
- Click on Payment or Payment Methods
Supported Payment Providers
SiteJet supports a range of payment providers, including:
- Stripe - Accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more. Widely used and easy to set up.
- PayPal - Lets customers pay with their PayPal balance or linked cards
- Other providers - Additional gateways may be available depending on your region
Connecting Stripe
- In the Payment settings, click Connect Stripe
- You'll be redirected to Stripe's website to log in or create an account
- Follow Stripe's steps to authorize SiteJet to process payments
- Once connected, return to SiteJet - Stripe will be active in your store
Connecting PayPal
- In the Payment settings, click Connect PayPal
- Enter your PayPal email address or connect via PayPal's OAuth flow
- Save your settings
Setting Your Currency
Make sure you've set the correct currency for your store - Canadian sellers will typically want to select CAD (Canadian Dollar). Look for a Currency setting in your store or payment settings.
Testing Before Going Live
Both Stripe and PayPal offer test/sandbox modes that let you simulate purchases without real money. Use this to verify your checkout flow works correctly before accepting real orders.
